Hours: 36 hours/week, Monday - Saturday. 6 hours/day, 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. (Sunday, 0 hours/day)

Seasonal Packaging Operators work closely with location Supervisors and Management to ensure seed packages are properly and legibly labeled, are accurate according to customer instructions, and are accurately stored and shipped as needed. Essential job functions may include:
Performing all work activities safely.
Application of appropriate tags and/or labels to seed packages as applicable.
Lifting and stacking materials up to 68 lbs. for extended periods of time.
Standing to fill and close packaged product for extended periods of time.
Successfully pass the forklift training and receive an operator's certificate.
Remove package product from line and deliver to warehouse via forklift.
Safely climb stairs and/or ladders.
Thorough cleaning of all packaging equipment to maintain product integrity.
Maintain a neat, clean, and organized work area.
Prepare and clean (if needed) packaging materials to be used according to customer specifications. This would include boxes, bulk bags, and paper bags.
Operating fork truck to dump packaged material for true bulk loads.
Open box slide gate or untie MB bag to dump true bulk loads.
Assist with clean-ups in all areas.
Workers may be required to perform work, on the farm, that is incidental to farming the crops listed in the application, such as performing hand-cultivation tasks, weeding or hoeing various crops, cleaning and repairing farm buildings, seed beds, grounds, setting up and moving irrigation pipes and equipment, gardening, weeding and shrubbing, etc.
Minimum Education Required
None. No High School Diploma or GED required.
Minimum Experience Required
Two (2) months experience required.
Must be able to lift 68 lbs. to shoulder height repetitively throughout the workday and able to lift and carry 68 lbs.

Workers should be able to work on their feet in bent positions for long periods of time.
Allergies to ragweed, goldenrod, etc. may affect workers’ ability to perform the job.
Workers should be physically able to do the work required with or without reasonable accommodations. Workers are exposed to wet weather early in the morning and heat throughout the day while working in the fields. Temperatures may range from 30-100F. Workers may be required to work during occasional showers not severe enough to stop field operations.
Must be able to work long hours, where conditions may be hot and humid, the majority of the workday is spent on one's feet.
Workers may be required to submit to random drug tests at the discretion of the employer. Drug testing and background checks may be performed during the interview process.

Job Benefits
EMPLOYER ASSURANCES: Work guaranteed for 3/4 of contract period, starting with date of arrival at work site. Employer provides free housing for workers whose residence is beyond normal commuting distance. Employer pays inbound transportation and subsistence to work site upon 50% completion of work contract for workers whose residence is beyond normal commuting distance. Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of at least $16.78 per day during travel to a maximum of $68.00 per day with receipts. Required work-related tools and supplies provided free of charge by employer.
Effective Jan 1, 2024, per MN State Statute, an employee will earn one hour of paid sick and safe time for every 30 hours worked, up to at least 48 hours of accrued Earned Sick and Safe Time (ESST) per year, provided the employee works a minimum of 80 hours in a calendar year.
