Join Serco as a Fleet Mechanic II in Dayton, OH!

Serco supports a large utility fleet operation diagnosing and repairing light, medium and heavy duty diesel trucks and other utility fleet equipment. Schedule will be full time 2nd shift Monday through Friday and the position is overtime eligible.

This position is contingent upon your ability to pass a preemployment criminal history & driver’s license check and drug screen.

In this role, you will:

  • Operate automotive & diesel vehicles and construction and material handling equipment.

  • Diagnose and repair medium and heavy-duty trucks, as well as aerial equipment.

  • Inspect, diagnose and repair bucket truck and digger derrick hydraulic systems

  • Perform engine, electrical and drivability diagnostics/repair.

  • Perform DOT inspections and manufacturer suggested servicing

  • Diagnose and repair aftertreatment systems

  • Provide clear and accurate information when entering work order data into a fleet maintenance system.

  • Be responsible for scheduling and prioritizing work derived from driver reports.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • At least 3 years of related experience.

  • High school diploma or its equivalent.

  • Valid driver’s license with good driving record.

  • Customer focused, strong work ethic and positive.

  • Be a safety oriented individual.

  • CDL B license is required but can be obtained after employment begins and training and reimbursement for it will be provided.

  • Candidates must provide truck technician hand tools.

Additional desired experience and skills:

  • Diesel vocational/technical school certifications
