Job Duties
This position is primarily responsible to manage multiple projects from initial contract award through final project completion and acceptance. This individual must possess a thorough understanding of industry and general construction practices and procedures. This position reports directly to the Vice President of Estimating and Project Management. Through a joint effort with appointed subordinate associate project managers, the ideal candidate will oversee the project activities and supervise the contract administration and the submittal process including: shop drawings, procurement of materials and fabricators, and overall coordination of project activities. Additional responsibilities include monitoring job cost vs. budget performance goals, qualifying project scope and specifications with the project estimator and dealing with architects, engineers, the general contractor and subcontractors. This position requires scheduling and coordination efforts with field and shop personnel. Serious consideration will be given to candidate’s whom also possess strong estimating skills for estimating development. Consideration for the estimating position will include but not limited to: understanding estimating techniques, plan takeoffs, proposal /bid preparation, preconstruction meetings, customer/vendor relations, product technical support, and contract and change order execution. This position is available due to growth.
Minimum Education Required
High school diploma, or GED.
Minimum Experience Required
REQUIREMENTS
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in commercial project management /estimating.
Strong supervisory and managerial skills
Requires ability to read and interpret construction drawing and specification.
Strong analytical, organizational, communication and Interpersonal skills.
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, Word & Excel
Attend job site meetings for trade coordination when necessary.
Possess strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills.
Must be US Citizen, or Green Card Holder.
Must be local to the MN area. Sorry, no relocations.
PREFREED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience with exterior architectural metal panels and metal roof systems are beneficial.
Knowledge of other construction software including material optimization programs, CAD, and On Screen Takeoff.
Trade organization membership and participation.
