Corporate Environmental Heath and Safety Engineer - Focus in Environmental

Job Duties

  • Assist the company in monitoring and managing environmental, health and safety (EH&S), compliance for all Crown domestic manufacturing and branch operations.

  • Develop EH&S programs, audit company facilities, and complete regulatory mandates in accordance with local, state and federal regulations.

  • Develop and conduct appropriate training programs for company employees and assist in the development of internal EH&S programs.

  • Conduct EH&S audits of company facilities.

  • Monitor, prepare regulatory reports and coordinate on a regular basis, EH&S programs such as compliance with wastewater pretreatment regulations, stormwater, air emissions and hazardous waste regulations for designated company facilities.

  • Complete environmental permit applications for company facilities.

  • Work with the company employees, supervisors, managers and executives in addressing EH&S related issues.

  • This position requires significant travel (15%) and the successful candidate must be a self-starter with the ability to complete projects with minimal supervision.

Minimum Qualifications

  • This position requires a four-year college degree in EH&S or related field.

  • Non-degree considered if 12+ years of related experience along with a high school diploma or GED.

  • A working knowledge of EH&S regulations and reporting required.

  • Valid driver's license required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Three to five years’ experience in process operations in a manufacturing environment relating to EH&S management, air emissions, wastewater treatment and hazardous chemical regulations (including waste) are necessary for this position.

Additional Information:

  • Position is an in person role based out of the Crown Safety House located at 402 W. Monroe St., New Bremen, OH 45869.Typical office hours are 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM.

  • This position is typically in office 5 days per week 8 hours per day with flexibility to travel and support all locations and/or shifts as needed.

  • Per 8-hour shift. Sit 5 hours and stand 3 hours. Both typical and non-typical office environment (low to moderate noise level, low exposure to hot/cold temperatures, dust, fumes, and vibrations). Regular interaction with others and performs a degree of independent work. Infrequently lift 31-40 pounds. Frequently grasp/grip (whole hand). Physical and mental demands are akin to the majority of office positions with prolonged periods of sitting and prolonged use of a computer/keyboard. Infrequent lifting, walking and climbing stairs. Occasional use of office equipment (copiers, printers, etc.).
