The Health Unit Coordinator (HUC) coordinates communication between nursing staff, physicians, other departments, professional staff, patients, and families relating to patient care. HUC facilitates unit operations through knowing and communicating information, managing the desk area, facilitating the use of technology, monitoring and communicating bed status, and coordinating downtime procedures. The HUC utilizes Epic to facilitate patient care orders and serves as an Epic resource to physicians and the nursing staff.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

Preferred

  • Medical terminology, computer skills, rhythm interpretation skills with previous health care setting experience.

Must be available day shift for HUC orientation the first weeks of employment.
