Job Description

Position: Launch Engineer

Department: Tools, machines & process dept.

Job Description:

As an extension of project management, production launch primarily focuses on the series of tasks involving

equipment, tooling, and inspection fixtures upon their arrival at the factory. Close communication with the project

manager is essential. This role involves organizing, planning, executing, inspecting, and improving various issues

throughout the product development process, particularly those encountered during industrialization.

  • Focus on the launch management of global new projects/new projects with cross-region or

cross-BU business/Cross-region relocation projects

-Ensure launch management fully compliance with PMP process by regular global launch

review and monitoring the attainment of deliverables.

-Implement risk control for successful launch.

  • Enhance cross region/BU communication and synergy

-Reduce launch cost by reviewing and approving reasonable standard for critical items.

  • Enhance resource identification and allocation.

-Form the launch team in organizing trial production and part quality planning during the

production ramp-up phase

-Organize the launch team in tracking and controlling quality issues during the new project

launch phase, including the incoming materials, engineering changes, and internal/external

quality problems

-Lead the launch team in organizing regular meetings during trial production, including the

tracking and resolution of issues involving manufacturing, molds, equipment, engineering,

and quality.

-Lead the launch team in tracking the improvement of internal production capacity, including

cycle time optimization, operator skill improvement, and rationalization of process layout.

-Lead the launch team in organizing internal 2TP (Two-Trial Production) approvals within the

factory.

-Lead the launch team in organizing document approval and submission for project

acceptance phases, including supplier and customer PPAP.

-Lead the launch team in tracking and promoting the improvements and resolution of

customer-side issues including incoming materials, vehicle assembly, road testing, and

audit.
