Job Description

Insight Global’s client is looking for a Senior Analyst to join their team. The portfolio this person will be supporting is within the revenue management workspace, which is very technical from a business perspective, with very heavy machine learning and data science being applied to the solutions. What is missing right now on the team is beyond the agile piece of managing the portfolio, it sits in actually comprehending what is being developed and why in order to properly facilitate the ceremonies in a way it aggregates. It's hard even to take notes if the knowledge base is not there. What are looking for in this Analyst is an agile light approach towards setting up and facilitating the core ceremonies while being able to actually partake in the discussions, have opinions and suggestions, comprehend the roadmap, etc.

  • Primary Collaboration: Work mostly with the two product owners.
  • Meeting Attendance: Expected to attend most working sessions for documentation and progress tracking.
  • Addressing Team Challenges: The current team just drag out random stories and by the end of the day they're just hoping that the stories they dragged out actually deliver something.
  • They lack "feature delivery orientation" and "a sprint objective."
  • Role's Contribution (if leaning Scrum, otherwise more Analyst domain experience and day to day)
  • Remind people of their purpose and monthly delivery goals.
  • Understand the roadmap and connect it to activities.
  • Help team members understand their contribution towards success.
  • "Understanding again what success looks like requires RGM fundamentals."
  • First 30 Days Expectation: Focus on "How well positioned is our portfolio on setting up our users to success in negotiating what's in there?"

Revenue Growth Management (RGM) Product Overview

  • RGM mainly consists of three pillars for data product development:
  • Pillar 1: Pricing
  • Aims to identify "the perfect and most optimal prices per region, per retailer, per product."
  • Enables the team to simulate pricing scenarios.
  • Involves "a series of machine learning models that are running on the back end and re simulating our portfolio with a huge variety of iterations and trying to find the best pricing combination."
  • Pillar 2: Promotional Activity Summary
  • Determines "whether we had or not ROI for the majority of the promotions that we carry forth."
  • Assists in providing recommendations on "which could be the next best promotions we could be dealing," including mechanics, duration, and specific weeks per retailer.
  • Pillar 3: Shelf Sense (Portfolio Management)
  • Identifies "which products we should delist, which products we should not be bringing to a shelf because it is consuming space that could be dedicated towards another product."
  • Insights can be "very critical" due to potential revenue loss when delisting products.
  • Overall goals: "achieve the best prices, the best promotions and the best portfolio. Best assortment on the point of sale."
