Staff Solutions Architect

Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a Senior Application / Solution Architect for a large enterprise transportation and logistics client. This individual will play a critical role in shaping and rebuilding the organization’s application architecture practice. The ideal candidate brings deep hands‑on application development experience, strong architectural judgment, and the ability to influence teams and leadership without requiring ramp‑up time or hand‑holding. This role works closely with application and operational teams, leads architecture reviews, develops proofs of concept, and ensures that architectural decisions balance business needs, timelines, and technical best practices at an enterprise scale.

Skills and Requirements

3+ years of experience as an Architect working with Modern Java Projects (Microservices Architecture, API's, Containerization Technologies) 10+ years of IT Java application development ( Version 17.0-21.0) using spring Understand what containerization is and how they work with applications (Kubernetes or Open-Shift experience) Understands Horizontal & Vertical Scaling and how it impacts application performance Excellent communications skills with the ability to tailor messaging to technical and non-technical audiences Ability to translate business requirements into practical architecture decisions Experience making real work tradeoff decisions (time, cost, resources, vs. needing Architectural purity) Ability to apply architecture patterns Close to the work and willing to be hands-on Preferred Qualifications: Open-shift Python Spring background Custom Application Designing Familiarity with Dynatrace or other observability tools
