What You Will Do:

• Support manufacturing processes, including equipment, floor layouts, work sequences, work instructions, procedures, and workflow.

• Conduct studies focused on cost control, productivity, cost reduction, inventory management, and production record systems.

• Review products and processes for quality, safety, and producibility risks, and collaborate with design teams to incorporate changes to mitigate these risks.

• Manage moderately sized projects or processes.

• Independently resolve problems that are challenging and often complex.

• Develop tactical plans to address and manage day-to-day challenges.

• Travel to local Iowa regional sites as needed.

What You Will Learn:

• Gain hands-on experience as an industrial engineer supporting the manufacturing processes for high-frequency communication radios and circuit board production.

• Learn to use engineering tools commonly applied in process areas, such as SAP, engineering drawings, change control boards, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, eView, and PDM.

• Acquire experience with standard work tools and processes, while working toward executing CORE certification.

• Develop within the role, with opportunities for growth and expansion of knowledge to prepare for other roles.

• Build critical communication and collaboration skills essential for success in the role.

Qualifications You Must Have:

• Must be pursuing a Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Industrial Engineering or a related STEM major and actively enrolled through the completion of the internship/co-op session.

Qualifications We Prefer:

• Prior experience in manufacturing environments.

• Background in root cause analysis.

• Experience with CAD software.

• A proven track record of driving continuous improvement in manufacturing operations.

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

As part of our commitment to maintaining a secure hiring process, candidates may be asked to attend select steps of the interview process in-person at one of our office locations, regardless of whether the role is designated as on-site, hybrid or remote.

The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.

RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
