Work Schedule: PRN/As Needed Schedule
The RN Clinical Reviewer for the Gulf Coast Division in Houston, TX plays a vital role in upholding medical necessity, patient safety, and regulatory compliance across our comprehensive network of acute care facilities, emergency centers, and specialized regional programs. This position is an exceptional opportunity for experienced RNs with a background in Utilization Review (UR), Utilization Management (UM), Case Management, Care Coordination, or Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI) who excel at administrative oversight. Operating within a fast-paced and data-driven healthcare environment, the Clinical Reviewer is responsible for the systematic, electronic evaluation of physician orders and medical documentation to ensure clinical and technical accuracy. This position actively supports a diverse range of high-acuity medical and surgical services, including advanced cardiovascular care, stroke and neurological services, orthopedics, oncology treatments, and critical care units. Leveraging your clinical expertise and familiarity with industry-standard guidelines, you will utilize HCA Healthcare's integrated platforms—such as the Patient Keeper desktop and mobile physician interfaces—to audit real-time patient charts, validate clinical indicators, and ensure optimal resource management. By collaborating dynamically with multidisciplinary healthcare teams, the RN Clinical Reviewer directly impacts the delivery of superior, evidence-based care throughout the greater Houston area.
Job Summary and Qualifications

Collaborate actively with the team to ensure resources and operational processes run smoothly.

Electronically review physician orders for technical accuracy using the specialized Patient Keeper platform.

Leverage HCA Healthcare's (https://hcahealthcare.com/) desktop and mobile Patient Keeper interface to maximize efficiency, protect patient safety, and deliver superior care.
What qualifications you will need:
-
Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing is required. BSN is preferred.
-
Current Registered Nurse License in the State of Texas or Multi-State Compact License (Employees with RN Compact License are required to obtain Texas RN License within 90 days of hire date).

Clinical, interpersonal, detail-oriented, customer-focused
-
Ability to follow verbal and written instructions with ability to maintain confidential information is required

Mature understanding of Meditech
-
Ability to work independently
-
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with clinical and information technology personnel verbally and in writing

Demonstrated advanced computer skills

Effective organizational skills

Good problem solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills

Existing knowledge of the facility’s clinical/operational processes, challenges and Meditech environment preferred
-
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications preferred

Customer service orientation and/or training preferred
