Full job description

A Snapshot of the Role

As a Gas Services Account Manager for the West Region, you will serve as the primary Siemens Energy contact for an assigned portfolio of power-generation customers. You will build trusted relationships, understand each customer’s operational and business priorities, coordinate responses to day-to-day needs, and translate those needs into sustainable business opportunities for Siemens Energy. Working across multiple product lines and internal functions, you will lead account strategies, support proposals and contract negotiations, and help customers improve the reliability, availability, performance, and long-term value of their power-generation assets.

Candidates must be based in, or willing to relocate to, one of the following locations: Salt Lake City, UT; Denver, CO; Phoenix, AZ; Seattle, WA; or San Francisco, CA.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for an assigned portfolio of power-generation customers in the West Region, developing trusted relationships across plant operations, maintenance, engineering, procurement, and leadership teams.

  • Develop account strategies and lead the sale and negotiation of Gas Services solutions, including spare parts, component repairs, modernizations and upgrades, onsite field services, digital solutions, and long-term service, alliance, and other service agreements.

  • Represent the voice of the customer by sharing market intelligence, competitive insights, and customer feedback with internal stakeholders to support the development and continuous improvement of Siemens Energy Gas Services offerings.

  • Plan and lead customer meetings, product and service presentations, site visits, and executive engagements that address customer priorities and advance account opportunities. Coordinate commercial, legal, technical, project-management, and service teams to develop timely, compliant, and competitive responses to customer requirements, proposals, and contract negotiations.

  • Own account plans, opportunity development, sales forecasting, and pipeline accuracy for the assigned customer portfolio, maintaining clear priorities, next steps, and internal alignment. The assigned account portfolio may include customers located in Utah, Washington, Oregon, California, Nevada, Arizona, Wyoming, Montana, and Idaho.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a business-related field.

  • 5+ years of sales, account-management, or business-development experience in the power-generation industry, preferably involving power-plant services such as parts, repairs, onsite field services, modernizations and upgrades, and service agreements.

  • Strong knowledge of power-generation equipment and plant operations, including gas turbines, steam turbines, and generators. Strong relationship-building, communication, organizational, and leadership skills, with the ability to listen to customers, identify operational and commercial priorities, and convert those insights into effective account and opportunity strategies.

  • Ability to communicate account and opportunity strategies clearly, influence cross-functional teams without direct authority, and align multiple product lines in support of proposals and contract negotiations.

  • Ability to travel domestically approximately 40–50% and to adjust working hours occasionally for customer events, outage support, or other business needs that may occur during evenings or weekends.

  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
