Why AssemblyAI
AssemblyAI builds the best-in-class Voice AI models powering the next generation of voice applications. Our models serve 600M+ inference calls monthly, process 1M+ hours of audio daily, and power 2 billion+ end-user experiences. The Voice AI space is at an inflection point; we’re looking for folks truly excited to join a small team and help define the future of the industry.
We are one of the most capital-efficient AI companies on the planet - with under 100 people generating roughly $500K ARR per employee, we sit among the top 5 most revenue-dense teams within the fastest-growing AI companies today. That's not an accident; it's a deliberate choice to stay lean, move fast, and give every person on the team outsized ownership and impact. With thousands of customers including Granola, Fireflies, Figure AI, and CallRail, the company has real scale - processing over 2 million hours of audio daily and handling more than 1 million API calls every day. This is a rare growth-stage opportunity where the business is proven and the trajectory is steep, but the team is still small enough that your fingerprints are on everything.
If you've ever felt buried under layers of bureaucracy, starved of real ownership, or frustrated watching your work disappear into a slow-moving org, AssemblyAI is built differently. The company operates as a true meritocracy, with no heavy planning or approval processes and no gatekeeping on the tools or information you need. For anyone who genuinely cares about voice AI, not as a trend to chase, but as a technology to build, this is the place where the most interesting problems at the most interesting scale are being solved by a team small enough that you'll actually know everyone's name.
We’re committed to creating a space where our employees can bring their full selves to work and have equal opportunity to succeed. No matter your race, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, religion, origin, ability, age, veteran status, if joining this mission speaks to you, we encourage you to apply!
About the Role
We're hiring our first Senior GTM Engineer to build the systems that power how AssemblyAI finds, wins, and grows customers. This is an engineering role embedded in the revenue organization: you'll own the GTM stack end-to-end — CRM, enrichment, outbound automation, routing, scoring, and the AI agents that increasingly do the work a traditional sales ops team used to do by hand.
You'll sit at the intersection of Sales, Marketing, and Data. One week you might ship an AI pipeline that identifies high-growth voice AI companies before they ever talk to us; the next you might rebuild lead routing in Salesforce, wire product usage signals into seller workflows, or automate an entire outbound motion from account selection to personalized first touch. Your customers are our AEs, SDRs, and GTM leaders — and your job is to make a small team perform like one three times its size.
What You'll Do
-
Own the GTM systems stack: Salesforce, outbound and sequencing tools, enrichment providers, and the integrations between them
-
Write code every day. Scripts, internal tools, and small services are most of the job, and you'll use tools like Claude Code to build fast — automating outreach messages, wiring up integrations, or standing up an internal app for the sales team in a day or two
-
Build AI workflows for prospecting, account research, lead scoring, and personalization that actually run in production
-
Turn product usage data (BigQuery, Looker) into signals sellers can act on: usage alerts, expansion triggers, and account health scores
-
Automate territory building and account targeting: sourcing, enrichment, dedupe, and ICP scoring
-
Keep funnel data clean and trustworthy: routing rules, field governance, and attribution
-
Prototype quickly, measure what works, and cut what doesn't; work directly with Sales and Marketing leadership on what to build next
-
Document what you build so it keeps running without you babysitting it
What You'll Need
-
4+ years in GTM/sales engineering, growth engineering, RevOps with heavy build responsibility, or software engineering with GTM exposure
-
Strong SQL and Python; comfortable owning production automations (APIs, webhooks, scheduled jobs, error handling) — not just no-code glue
-
Solid software engineering fundamentals: you write clean, maintainable code, think in systems, and are at home with version control, code review, and debugging — you don't need an engineering team to ship
-
Fluency with AI-assisted development tools like Claude Code as a core part of how you work: you use them to move at a pace that makes traditional ops teams look slow — automating messaging workflows, generating integrations, building tools on demand — while having the engineering judgment to review, test, and trust what ships
-
Hands-on Salesforce depth: objects, flows, routing, and API-level integration work
-
Real experience putting LLMs into workflows — prompt design, evaluation, and knowing when AI is the wrong tool
-
Experience with the modern GTM stack (enrichment platforms like Clay or similar, sequencers, warehouse-native tooling)
-
A builder's mindset with an operator's judgment: you scope for business impact, ship iteratively, and measure results in pipeline and revenue
-
Low ego, high ownership, and comfort being the single-threaded owner of an entire domain
Nice to Have
-
Experience at a developer-facing or API-first company, or selling to technical buyers
-
Familiarity with dbt, BigQuery/Looker (or an equivalent warehouse + BI stack)
-
Experience building agentic workflows (multi-step AI systems, not just single prompts)
-
