The music program at Baruch College, CUNY, seeks a promising scholar of demonstrated scholarship or achievement and dedicated teacher, currently completing or having recently attained the Ph.D. in Music Theory, for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor position beginning Fall 2027. All degree requirements must be met by the beginning of the 2027–2028 academic year.

The faculty member will teach a variety courses primarily in music theory to a diverse community that includes music majors and music minors. Other responsibilities may include directing independent undergraduate projects, advisement, and the like.

The successful candidate is expected to conduct a scholarly agenda with significant peer-reviewed publications and conference presentations, and to engage in other activities within the profession.

The faculty member will be an active participant in departmental and college-level committees and will share responsibility for academic governance, which may include curricular development and program review.

QUALIFICATIONS

Must currently be completing or having recently attained the Ph.D. in Music Theory, for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor position beginning Fall 2027. All degree requirements must be met by the beginning of the 2027–2028 academic year.

COMPENSATION

$89,777- $105,588; commensurate with qualifications and experience
