THE POSITION

With our team, you will help maintain proper hair and scalp health and care for patients with severe and persistent mental illness while contributing to a caring atmosphere across the facility. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position focuses on providing therapeutic cosmetology services that support patient wellbeing. Work directly contributes to health, comfort, and confidence during their long-term care experience. As a Cosmetologist 1, you will perform the following duties:

  • Patient Assessment:Evaluate each person’s hair, head, and scalp; report conditions that require medical and hygienic monitoring

  • Beauty Services:Provide haircuts, permanent waives, relaxers, coloring, facials, manicures, and scalp, hair, and other treatments

  • Shop Operations:Ensure Beauty Shop work follows all state rules, regulations, and standards for licensing and sanitation, and all facility policies and procedures

  • Appointment Records:Answer the phone, communicate messages, and keep daily records of all services provided

  • Care Collaboration:Work with nurses and other employees to support consistent patient care and maintain a sympathetic attitude toward all patients

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment

  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. May change based on operational needs.

  • Free parking!

  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

QUALIFICATIONS

Special Requirements:

  • You must possess a license as a Cosmetologist as issued by the Pennsylvania State Board of Cosmetology.

  • A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.

  • This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.

  • Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.

Provides cosmetology services which include cut, shampoo, condition, set, dry, style, straighten, and/or color hair; give permanents; sterilize beauty shop tools and equipment; maintain a sanitary environment; and make appointments for individuals.
