Full job description

Description We're hiring a Solutions Architect to be the technical voice in our highest-value customer conversations. If you've worked as a sales engineer, pre-sales engineer, or solutions engineer, the shape of this will be familiar. Right now our leadership and senior engineers cover this between them, and there's more demand for it than they can absorb. You'll report to the COO and sit with our sales organization, working closely with engineering leadership on feasibility and scope. Most requests center on performance optimization, engine customization, and pipeline integration. You won't be the only technical resource in the room: the rest of W4 is available to you whenever a conversation needs deeper expertise than one person can carry. This is a pre-sales position. You're not carrying a quota and you won't be staffed on engagements by default. That said, we're under 30 people, and there will be times when it makes sense for you to contribute directly to delivery.

What you'll be doing

  • Joining discovery and qualification calls as the engineering counterpart to our business leads.
  • Framing customer problems clearly, and separating real risk from perceived risk.
  • Owning and proposing technical solutions, working with our internal technical team on the more complex problems.
  • Building targeted, time-boxed PoCs for strategic opportunities, reusable where possible.
  • Driving technical follow-up after events and calls, and contributing to formats like roundtables where they make sense.
  • Delivering talks at selected industry events, building depth in a few themes tied to our services rather than producing one-off content.
  • Turning talks and internal engineering projects into blog posts, engineering notes, whitepapers, and recorded content.
