Full job description

Description We are looking for an experienced tax leader to guide corporate tax strategy and global income tax reporting for a multinational manufacturing organization. This role will work closely with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to support financial reporting, compliance, planning, and business initiatives across U.S. and Latin American operations. The position is well suited for an individual who combines deep technical tax knowledge with strong leadership, sound judgment, and the ability to improve processes in a complex global environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Direct the preparation of quarterly and annual global income tax provisions under ASC 740, including analysis of domestic and international inputs, uncertain tax positions, valuation allowances, supporting schedules, and financial statement disclosures.

  • Establish and maintain companywide standards for income tax accounting and reporting, with a focus on consistency, internal control effectiveness, and accurate external reporting.

  • Lead tax forecasting and budget activities by evaluating effective tax rate drivers, intercompany transactions, and projected cash tax obligations.

  • Manage tax-related audit activity by coordinating with external auditors, overseeing documentation, and supporting governance and control requirements.

  • Advise regional finance and operational leaders on tax considerations tied to growth plans, strategic decisions, and day-to-day business activities across U.S. and Latin American markets.

  • Oversee direct tax compliance and planning for federal, state, local, and international jurisdictions while monitoring risk exposure and significant tax positions.

  • Guide transfer pricing execution by supporting intercompany pricing frameworks, documentation, controversy matters, and tax aspects of organizational changes.

  • Partner with Finance, Legal, Treasury, and business leadership on mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, restructurings, and other strategic transactions to assess tax impact and opportunities.

  • Track tax law and regulatory changes and provide leadership with practical recommendations related to risk, planning opportunities, and operational implications.

  • Develop the tax function through mentorship, performance leadership, and process improvements involving automation, analytics, and tax technology tools. Requirements • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.

  • At least 7 years of progressive corporate tax experience, including substantial work with ASC 740 in a multinational environment.

  • Prior experience in tax accounting within a large public accounting firm, a global corporation, or a combination of both.

  • Strong knowledge of U.S. federal, state, and international corporate tax principles, including current regulatory developments.

  • Experience supporting corporate tax compliance, annual income tax provision work, and cross-border tax matters.

  • Familiarity with transfer pricing concepts, documentation practices, and intercompany tax issues.

  • Proficiency with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, along with experience using tax software and reporting tools such as ATX, CCH ProSystem fx, Power BI, Prophix, or similar platforms.

  • Proven ability to manage projects, communicate effectively with stakeholders, and lead and develop tax professionals.
