Description

We are looking for an accomplished Chief Financial Officer to guide the financial strategy of a growing manufacturing organization in Zebulon, North Carolina. This executive will balance high-level planning with day-to-day leadership across accounting, reporting, and operational finance. The role calls for a manufacturing finance expert who can improve visibility into plant performance, strengthen cost controls, and help the business expand with confidence.

Responsibilities:

  • Direct the full scope of finance and accounting activities, including close processes, financial statements, budgeting, forecasting, cash oversight, tax coordination, and audit support.

  • Establish and refine manufacturing cost accounting practices covering item costing, inventory valuation, standard costs, margin review, and analysis of production variances.

  • Work closely with plant and operations leaders to translate manufacturing results into actionable financial insight related to efficiency, labor usage, waste, and overhead performance.

  • Lead short- and long-term financial planning efforts that support business goals, investment decisions, and sustainable growth.

  • Manage liquidity, banking partnerships, and working capital strategies to maintain financial stability and improve cash performance.

  • Maintain strong compliance with U.S. GAAP, tax obligations, audit expectations, and internal control standards across the organization.

  • Identify opportunities to enhance financial systems, reporting tools, and automation to improve accuracy, streamline workflows, and support scalability.

  • Recruit, develop, and mentor a capable finance team while setting clear expectations and promoting accountability.

  • Advise senior leadership on profitability, capital allocation, operational priorities, and strategic initiatives that impact company performance.

Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.

  • Active CPA credential is required.

  • At least 10 years of progressive experience in finance and accounting, including leadership responsibility at a senior level.

  • Prior experience as a CFO, VP of Finance, Controller, or comparable finance leader within a manufacturing setting.

  • Deep expertise in cost accounting, including inventory, standard costing, bills of material, and variance analysis.

  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, internal controls, and financial reporting requirements.

  • Experience improving financial processes through ERP platforms, reporting technology, and automation initiatives.

  • Proven ability to communicate effectively with executives, operational leadership, auditors, and financial institutions.
