Job Description

The Payments organization is a motivated, forward-thinking team of product managers focused on delivering innovative payment services across today’s and tomorrow’s most important platforms. We aim to transform customer experiences, simplify how we do business, and drive toward product excellence with a strong emphasis on controls, simplicity, and consistency.

As a Vice President, Strategy & Planning lead supporting Commerce Payments, you will sit between day-to-day execution and longer-horizon strategy—owning integrated planning, executive-ready narratives, and cross-functional alignment. You will help translate strategic priorities into an actionable roadmap and operating rhythm, and act as a connector across product, technology, analytics, finance, and partner teams in support of Commerce Payments’ strategy and outcomes. This role supports a fast-evolving business building Chase’s digital ecosystem capabilities across the purchasing journey.

Job responsibilities

  • Drive strategy-to-execution connectivity, planning rigor, and senior stakeholder alignment across Commerce Payments.

  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the Commerce Payments product roadmap, end-to-end user experience, and core product areas.

  • Drive long-term product strategy and roadmap optimization, with emphasis on longer-horizon initiatives and sustained business outcomes.

  • Create and deliver executive-ready narratives and materials (e.g., business reviews, strategy readouts, leadership updates) that clearly articulate strategy, progress, trade-offs, and results.

  • Partner cross-functionally to maximize business value—aligning stakeholders, resolving dependency risk, and accelerating decision-making.

  • Own integrated planning and operating cadence: track execution, manage dependencies, maintain action logs, and provide regular progress updates to leadership.

  • Coordinate with Risk, Controls, Legal, and Compliance partners to maintain a strong risk and controls environment.

  • Establish and continuously improve best practices for stakeholder communications, planning routines, and strategy articulation.

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • 7+ years in product strategy, program management, product management, chief-of-staff/strategy & planning, or similar roles with proven delivery in fast-paced environments.

  • Ability to manage multiple complex initiatives simultaneously, drive clarity, and maintain momentum amid ambiguity and shifting priorities.

  • Analytical synthesis & judgment: quickly distill complex inputs, structure decisions, and iterate with stakeholders as new information emerges.

  • Strong strategic planning and program leadership skills, excellent executive communication, and the discretion required to operate close to senior leaders.

  • Influence & collaboration: strong written/verbal communication and the ability to influence across a matrixed organization.

  • Risk & controls mindset: comfort partnering with Risk, Controls, Legal, and Compliance to ensure appropriate governance and execution discipline.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft (PowerPoint, Excel, Teams) and Jira/Confluence.

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
