Job Description
Position Summary:
The Senior Communications Coordinator is responsible for management of approximately 500 On & Off-Campus Life (OOCL) communications campaigns, programs, and initiatives annually; and serves as the primary project manager for OOCL’s Communications team. This person leads planning, tracking, editing, writing, and delivery of dynamic and engaging communications content in support of functional area initiatives. This position manages multiple projects at one time, both independently and as part of collaborative team, reporting to the Director of Communications.

Description of Work Unit:
The Communications team works to uphold and uplift the vision, mission, and priorities of On & Off Campus Life's various departments. Communications professionals on the team specialize in a wide range of practices including brand strategy, marketing campaign management, graphic design, multimedia, web design and development, project management, storytelling, public relations, and issues management. The team communicates with a wide range of stakeholders including prospective students/residents, current students/residents, student/resident families and supporters, On & Off Campus Life staff, campus partners, and media outlets.
Essential Job Duties:

Provides project management and Communications expertise for more than 500 projects annually; Serves as the main point of contact for OOCL units/campus partners requiring communications support and the Communication team.

Writes and edits operational emails, web content, technical content, and marketing/promotional content for OOCL audiences including current and future residents and guests, their families/supporters, and faculty/staff.

Manages the Communications team’s project calendar and management in Wrike software package; This includes daily oversight of the calendar as well as scheduling/attending planning/check-in meetings, setting task milestones, managing reviews, compiling feedback, editing deliverables, ensuring successful project completion, and managing project assessment and close-out.

Reviews, edits and approves communications collateral, coordinates printing and delivery, and ensures cost estimates are accurate and invoices are paid.

Serves on various working committees that support OOCL and CSU communications efforts.

Collaborates closely with University partners and MarComm on campaign coordination, deliverables, and invoicing.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, marketing, journalism, or related field plus two years of relevant experience.
OR
- Bachelor’s degree in unrelated field with a minimum of five years’ experience in the communications/marketing field.
Minimum Qualifications:

Demonstrated writing and editing skills of both promotional and informational copy, including a strong understanding of the Associated Press Stylebook (or similar) and communicating a wide array of message types with varying audiences.

Experience writing and executing communications plans with clients/campus partners and communications colleagues.

Experience managing multiple communications projects and campaigns at one time using project management software or systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
-
Professional work experience in higher education.

Experience serving on a multi-person communications team made up of individuals with differing roles, responsibilities, and areas of expertise.

Experience managing communications projects for clients/campus partners. and communications colleagues; Serving as a liaison between clients/campus partners and creative teams.

Experience managing and updating websites using WordPress or similar content management system (CMS).
-
Experience with Wrike or similar project management software suites.
-
Working knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite (Acrobat, InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop).
