Job Title: Buyer Job Description
The Buyer is responsible for managing procurement and supplier relationships across two sites while supporting the integration of legacy procurement processes into a unified sourcing system and operating model. This role focuses on improving procurement discipline, enabling forecast-driven purchasing, and shifting from reactive buying to a strategic, data-driven approach. The Buyer supports cost optimization initiatives, supplier performance management, and process standardization in alignment with strategic sourcing, contributing directly to the creation of exceptional products that positively impact peoples lives worldwide.
Responsibilities

Manage procurement activities and supplier relationships for two sites, ensuring timely and cost-effective purchasing.

Support the Director of Strategic Sourcing in integrating legacy procurement processes into standardized systems and operating models.

Drive process standardization and coordinate with cross-functional partners to support supplier selection, contract negotiations, supplier performance, and relationship management.

Develop a foundational multi-category understanding, including technical product knowledge, internal sourcing processes, cost drivers, industry dynamics, and market conditions.

Perform data analyses and apply financial skills to identify opportunities to leverage scale and drive cost savings.

Execute purchase orders in alignment with demand forecasts and planning parameters to minimize expediting and reactive purchasing.

Establish and maintain accurate master data, including lead times, minimum order quantities (MOQs), pricing, and supplier information.

Transition manual and decentralized purchasing processes into standardized, system-driven workflows.

Identify opportunities for supplier consolidation, cost savings, and contract alignment to support strategic sourcing objectives.

Develop and maintain inventory turns that meet organizational goals and customer service levels.

Support contracting activities with regional direct and indirect suppliers.

Manage the Approved Supplier List and enhance procurement visibility, reporting, and supplier performance tracking.

Apply total cost analysis concepts to evaluate sourcing decisions and optimize overall supply chain costs.

Follow environmental and safety regulations and act in compliance with applicable US laws.

Comply with corporate guidelines on safety and business ethics in all procurement activities.
Essential Skills
-
Bachelors degree in Business, Purchasing, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

35 years of purchasing experience and 12 years of contracting experience.

Hands-on experience with ERP software, with in-depth knowledge of MRP preferred.

Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.

Familiarity with total cost analysis concepts in a procurement or supply chain context.

Excellent understanding of statistical concepts used to formulate safety stock quantities to meet customer service levels.
-
Experience with ERP forecasting software to support demand planning and forecast-driven purchasing.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
-
Demonstrated track record of accomplishments in supply chain management.
Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience implementing and maintaining a Lean Material Flow manufacturing environment is a plus.

Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, evolving environment; M&A integration experience is a plus.

Certification from APICS or ISM is a plus.

Experience with procurement, supply chain, forecasting, cost savings analysis, ERP systems, and MOQs.

Advanced Microsoft Excel skills for data analysis and reporting.

This is a Permanent position based out of Queens, NY.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $105000.00/yr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
