Apple Retail Logistics is looking for a logistics professional with proven experience in project management, focused on developing and providing logistics solutions for the construction, preservation and operations of retail stores worldwide that meet key financial, service and schedule targets while following compliance guidelines.

Description Operations:

  • Manage global logistic roll outs to meet project schedule and cost targets.
  • Publish, maintain and enforce the vendor route guide.
  • Conduct root cause and corrective action as required.
  • Inspect and audit project sites and warehouses for readiness and compliance to Apple requirements.

Cost Control:

  • Freight cost audit and payment.
  • Conduct benchmarking activities.
  • Develop cost estimates and forecasts.

Process Development and Reengineering:

  • Develop operational plans to support pilots and project roll outs from a small group of stores to the entire fleet.
  • Create project scope documents to be used in the Logistics bidding process.
  • Onboard new vendors for logistics.
  • Develop and enforce standards, guidelines and policies for packaging, documentation, communications, reporting, etc

Metrics/Analytics/Reporting:

  • Develop and track key operational and financial metrics.
  • Conduct performance and cost analyses.
  • Perform periodic carrier reviews for past performance and future engagements.

Logistics Solutions/Strategy:

  • Conduct RFP/RFQ activities to support projects and ongoing operations.
  • Select and manage carriers’ performance to set goals and objectives.
  • Administer carrier contracts and rate agreements.
  • Review material vendor agreements for best practices in incoterms, logistics.
  • Develop and implement innovative solutions for special projects.

Systems

  • Develop support systems to streamline logistics operations (WMS, TMS, ITL, etc)

Interfaces:

  • Internal Apple: Sourcing & Innovation, Development, Global Trade Compliance, Finance, Preservation, other Retail and Corporate groups.
  • External: carriers, customs brokers, material vendors.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum of 7 years logistics or trade compliance industry experience.
  • BS/BA degree in supply chain, logistics, or equivalent relevant professional experience.
  • Technical competence: Multi-modal, domestic/international/local transportation; Warehouse operations; Understanding of incoterms, HTS, DG, export/import requirements.
  • Skills: Excellent communication, organizational, cross functional/collaborative, and analytical skills. Strong Project Management experience required.
  • Must be able to travel up to 25%, and support teams in multiple time-zones.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Desktop applications (word processing, spreadsheets, data management, email, etc).
