Job Description A Personal Injury Attorney advocates for individuals injured due to the negligence or wrongdoing of others, helping them obtain fair compensation for their losses. They handle cases from initial consultation to final settlement or trial, providing legal advice, investigating claims, negotiating settlements, and representing clients in court.

Personal Injury Attorney

  • Case Evaluation & Client Consultation:

  • Meet with potential clients to assess their cases.

  • Provide legal advice and outline possible courses of action.

  • Legal Research & Case Preparation:

  • Investigate accident reports, medical records, and witness statements.

  • Gather and analyze evidence to build a strong case.

  • Consult with medical experts, accident reconstruction specialists, and other professionals.

  • Negotiation & Settlement:

  • Negotiate with insurance companies and opposing counsel.

  • Seek to maximize settlement amounts before proceeding to trial.

  • Litigation & Court Representation:

  • Draft legal documents (complaints, motions, & discovery requests).

  • Represent clients in court proceedings, including hearings, trials, and depositions.

  • Present arguments, question witnesses, and advocate on behalf of clients.

  • Client Communication & Case Management:

  • Keep clients informed about case progress and legal strategies.

  • Manage multiple cases simultaneously while deadlines are met.

Qualifications

  • Education & Licensing:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

  • Licensed to practice law in the relevant state of New York

  • Experience in personal injury law preferred. (Plaintiff side only)
