Responsibilities
SafeGuard Services (SGS), a subsidiary of Peraton, performs data analysis, investigation, and medical review to detect, prevent, deter, reduce, and make referrals to recover fraud, waste, and abuse.
We are looking to add an Auditor to our SGS team of talented professionals.
What you'll do:
The Auditor will apply intermediate level of subject matter knowledge to solve a variety of common business issues. Works on problems of moderately complex scope. Acts as an informed team member providing analysis of information and limited project direction input. Exercises independent judgment within defined practices and procedures to determine appropriate action. Follows established guidelines and interprets policies. Evaluates unique circumstances and makes recommendations.

Audits cost reports, claims submissions and performs ad-hoc focused audits.

Identifies inherent and residual risks and conducts risk-based audits.

Develops an understanding of the function to be audited and uses business knowledge, analytical skills and experience in identifying findings and improvements.

Works closely with team members to provide ongoing progress reports and updates of audit findings.

Participates in projects/audits.

Provides research and data analysis for moderately complex projects.

Stays abreast of new audit developments.

Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
-
2 years with BS/BA;or 6 years of experience with a HS Diploma/equivalent
-
Typically 2 years of experience in finance, accounting or audit.

Intermediate knowledge of internal audit policies and operating principles.
-
Intermediate understanding of Medicare/Medicaid or healthcare auditing and their revenue cycles.
-
Intermediate risk assessment and scoping skills.
-
Strong research and analytical skills.
-
Strong familiarity with Microsoft Office tools, including intermediate to advanced knowledge of Excel.

U.S. citizenship required
Desirable Qualifications:
-
Degree in finance, accounting, mathematics, or related field preferred.

Intermediate financial and business acumen.

Basic project management skills.

Target Salary Range $51,000 - $82,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
