Job Description
An enterprise telecommunications client is seeking a Software Engineer to support the development and enhancement of a large-scale device testing platform used by engineering teams to execute automated testing across physical and virtual devices. This individual will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining backend services, user-facing applications, and device management solutions that enable remote access, automated test execution, and device monitoring capabilities. This role is primarily focused on software engineering and platform development, while also supporting the underlying lab infrastructure and device ecosystem that powers the testing environment. The ideal candidate will have strong backend development experience, a background in test automation, and the ability to troubleshoot infrastructure, networking, and device connectivity issues in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs that support device management, automated testing, and platform operations.
- Build and enhance web-based applications and dashboards used to monitor devices, manage testing activities, and analyze test results.
- Develop software components that run on devices and servers to ensure reliable connectivity, communication, and automation capabilities.
- Partner with engineering teams to integrate automated testing frameworks and workflows into the platform.
- Support containerized applications and platform infrastructure, including server environments, networking, and system performance optimization.
- Troubleshoot device, application, and connectivity issues across physical and virtual testing environments.
- Assist with the setup, maintenance, and organization of lab equipment, devices, networking hardware, and cabling.
- Evaluate and implement emerging technologies and AI-enabled solutions to improve testing efficiency and automation capabilities.
- Participate in solution design discussions and contribute to continuous improvements across the platform ecosystem.
This role is 4 days a week onsite in Greenwood Village, Colorado near Parker, Colorado. It is offering 45-48/hr.
Skills and Requirements
- 5+ years of software engineering experience with a strong emphasis on backend development and automation technologies.
- Advanced experience developing applications and services using Python.
- Experience building scalable RESTful APIs and distributed service architectures.
- Hands-on experience with MongoDB, Redis, or similar database and caching technologies.
- Experience with real-time communication technologies such as WebSockets.
- Experience working with Docker, Kubernetes, or similar containerization and orchestration platforms.
- Experience implementing or supporting automated testing frameworks, including at least two of the following:
- Appium
- Selenium / Selenium Grid
- Espresso
- XCUITest
- WebdriverIO
- Experience integrating automated testing solutions within CI/CD pipelines such as GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins.
- Experience developing user interfaces using React and TypeScript.
- Familiarity with device management, remote device access platforms, or large-scale automated testing environments.
- Understanding of networking fundamentals, device connectivity troubleshooting, and infrastructure support.
- Experience working with streaming technologies or live-device monitoring solutions.
- Familiarity with Roku testing or device-control protocols.
- Exposure to AI-assisted development tools, automated testing solutions, or agent-based automation technologies. Experience supporting physical lab environments, including hardware installation, cabling, and equipment setup.
