Job Description

The Senior Intune / Endpoint Engineer will support and help drive the ongoing development and modernization of the organization’s Microsoft Intune environment. This person will work closely with an external consulting partner currently rebuilding the Intune infrastructure, participating in the transition and ultimately helping take ownership of the environment internally. The ideal candidate will be highly proficient with Intune but also bring a strong Active Directory foundation and broader Microsoft infrastructure knowledge. A major focus of the role will include software/application packaging within Intune, refreshing existing packages, supporting deployments and testing, and identifying opportunities to improve or automate packaging processes. This individual needs to be highly self-sufficient and comfortable working with limited day-to-day direction. Rather than waiting for tasks to be assigned, they should proactively identify what needs to be done, make technical recommendations, engage the appropriate stakeholders, and drive projects through completion. The ideal candidate will bring a consultative mindset, communicate confidently with both internal teams and external consultants, and be interested in growing into a long-term role with the organization. In this role, the Intune Administrator oversees the full lifecycle of device management across the organization. Each day involves monitoring device compliance, troubleshooting endpoint issues, and ensuring policies are deployed correctly and consistently. You will configure and maintain Intune profiles, security baselines, conditional access policies, and application deployments while collaborating with security, infrastructure, and help desk teams to resolve escalated issues. You’ll also evaluate new Intune features, recommend improvements, and help drive the organization’s transition toward a fully modern, cloud‑managed endpoint environment. Documentation, reporting, and continuous optimization are core parts of the daily workflow, ensuring the environment remains secure, stable, and aligned with best practices.

Skills and Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience with Microsoft Intune
  • Experience with software/application packaging and deployment through Intune
  • Experience maintaining, refreshing, and troubleshooting application packages
  • Strong foundational knowledge of Active Directory
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Azure / Entra ID and the broader Microsoft ecosystem
  • Experience supporting endpoint management projects, implementations, migrations, or infrastructure improvements
  • Ability to work independently with minimal oversight
  • Demonstrated ability to take ownership of projects and drive them from identification through completion
  • Proactive, consultative approach with the confidence to make recommendations and push initiatives forward
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with internal administrators and external consulting teams
  • Experience working alongside a third-party consulting or implementation partner
  • Experience with an Intune rebuild, migration, or major environment transformation
  • Experience identifying opportunities to automate application packaging or deployment processes
  • Broader Microsoft infrastructure experience beyond Intune, particularly across AD, Azure/Entra ID, and endpoint management
  • Previous experience operating as a technical consultant or SME where the individual was expected to provide direction rather than simply execute assigned tasks
  • Experience transitioning ownership of an environment from an external consulting team to an internal IT organization
