Job Description

An employer is seeking an Engineering Tester for a contract to hire opportunity in the Columbus, OH area. These technicians will be joining a leader in the geospatial and environmental engineering space. The plan is for the tester to convert to a full-time employee within the 6-month mark, in which they will then receive more individual responsibilities, phone allowance, stock options, and full benefits. On a day-to-day basis, the tester will be sent dispatch information to their phone the day before . Day to day will include testing and inspecting concrete and field density materials will be required to complete and then reported into their phone. An ACI certification is not required before starting, as the company will pay for the certification upon full-time hire, however prior certification would be a major plus. While the majority of the work will be completing inspections, further inspections may be required on other geospatial material. The ideal candidate will be able to work 40-55 hours a week.

Day-to-Day:

• Perform field inspections and testing of soils, concrete, and field density materials

• Conduct nuclear density testing on active construction sites

• Review project plans and blueprints to verify compliance

• Travel to assigned job sites based on daily dispatch schedules

• Document test results and inspection findings using mobile reporting tools

• Support ongoing data center construction projects and Terracon field operations

• Ensure materials meet project specifications and quality standards

• Assist with additional geospatial and environmental inspection activities as needed

Skills and Requirements

• 3+ years of soils/materials testing experience

• Experience performing nuclear density testing

• High School Diploma or GED

• Clean driving record/background - Active ACI Certification

• ICC Certifications

• TTCP Soil Certifications (DOT-related experience)

• DCP equipment experience

• CWI Certification
