The Administrative Office of the Courts is the operational arm of the Judicial Branch. The court system employs nearly 3,300 personnel who support 406 elected justices, judges, and circuit court clerks.

The Office of Statewide Programs, Department of Specialty Courts has an opening for a Specialty Courts Program Coordinator in Hardin County.

The Specialty Courts Program Coordinator oversees the daily operations of the Specialty Court program, ensuring compliance with program requirements, policies, and procedures. This position provides case management and community supervision to participants while collaborating with judges, court staff, attorneys, treatment providers, and community partners to promote participant success and program effectiveness. The Program Coordinator is responsible for maintaining accurate case files and program documentation, completing data collection and reporting, supporting grant requirements, audits, and preparing timely and accurate reports for the court. The position serves as a key liaison among program stakeholders, evaluates program activities and outcomes, and identifies opportunities to improve operational efficiency and achievement of program goals. The Program Coordinator also performs court administrative duties and other responsibilities as needed to support the effective operation of the Specialty Court Program.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES OR RESPONSIBILITIES OF THIS CLASSIFICATION:

  • Manage a high caseload of Specialty Court participants, conducting screenings, intakes, orientations, individualized case planning, and ongoing targeted case management.

  • Establish and maintain partnerships with community agencies to secure participant access to treatment, housing, education, vocational training, and other resources.

  • Serve as a liaison among judges, attorneys, court staff, treatment providers, and community partners to coordinate services and support participant success.

  • Enter and maintain accurate data in the case management system, ensuring documentation, reports, and files meet program and compliance standards.

  • May assist other Specialty Court programs and departmental initiatives based on organizational needs and operational priorities.

  • Some overnight travel is required.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

EDUCATION:Associate’s degree in social work, psychology, criminal justice, sociology, or closely related field.

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS:At least two (2) years of experience working with high-risk or high-needs population, including individuals with substance use disorders, mental health disorders, or multiple barriers to success

Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE:NONE

Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION:Additional related education or work experience will substitute for the minimum requirements on a year-for-year basis.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.):NONE

Working Conditions

Work is primarily performed in an office and, or, courtroom setting and requires regular attendance onsite at the designated work location. Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license. Statewide travel is required. Must be able to deal with highly stressed people. Must be able to deal with substance abuse issues and behavioral health needs. Must be able to work inside a detention center on as needed basis. Due to the nature of the job duties and responsibilities, this position is not authorized for virtual work.
