Full job description

Full Time, Salaried | Pay Rate: Pay Grade 15 | Shift Details: Schedule will vary.

Job Summary: As the Construction Superintendent, you will manage all field activities related to physical construction. The Superintendent carries out the direction of the Construction Project Manager and Construction Senior Superintendent in respect to field operations and thereby directs the daily progress of the work. You will report to the Senior Superintendent.

Primary Tasks:

  1. Coordinate with the Project Manager all scheduling for materials, equipment, workforce, and subcontractors to ensure project schedule and quality is met.

  2. Conduct Scope Review of bid packages and identify field-construction and work-sequence considerations while finalizing bid package purchased.

  3. Develop and administer the site utilization program, site services, security arrangements, and other facilities and arrangements necessary for appropriate service. to the construction effort.

  4. Review shop drawings, product data and samples, to ensure the most complete and accurate drawings are available during construction and final inspection of the work.

  5. Confirm quality of materials, equipment, and labor to ensure the Choctaw Nation is receiving the greatest service and materials for the price and ensure they are properly dispersed to meet project deadlines.

  6. Prepare daily reports, field records, and maintain all job-site related documentation to ensure the integrity of the site, the safety of the workers, and the standards of the Choctaw Nation are met.

  7. Observe all field testing required by the contracts and report all field testing to the Architect, Project Manager, and other affected entities.

  8. Maintain schedule of events, including 4-week look-ahead schedules, to ensure the overall project schedules are being met on a continuing basis.

  9. Monitor the performance of the Preconstruction Department and Project Engineering functions to ensure all subcontracts, material purchases, submittals, deliveries, clarifications, and changes are processed in time to guarantee jobsite arrival to meet the project schedule and that the proper documentation is forwarded to the Project Manager, Construction Auditors, and Construction Accounting Department.

  10. You will perform other duties as may be assigned.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, or business or 4 years of directly related experience in lieu of education

  • Working knowledge of all phases of commercial construction including codes, standards, rules, and regulations pertaining to construction, cost estimating, safety, and blue line drawings.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, Bluebeam, and other tech-related office skills

  • OSHA 10-Hour Certified

  • 4 years of Construction Industry experience in a Supervisory role
