Every mortgage tells a story, and you'll help write the next chapter. As a Mortgage Lending Representative, you'll support members through some of life's biggest financial milestones, whether they're purchasing a home, building their dream house, refinancing, or exploring other mortgage solutions. You'll answer questions, gather information, build trusted relationships, and help create a smooth, positive mortgage experience from application through closing. Working closely with members, realtors, attorneys, and other partners, you'll play a key role in helping members achieve their goals while strengthening our presence in the communities we serve. What You'll Do:

Serve as an additional contact for mortgage loan questions through the mortgage loan process

Update member information on the mortgage application and reassess their mortgage preapproval status.

Prepare pre-approval or pre-qualification letter as needed

Maintain regular contact with members and obtain additional information for the file as needed

Follow up on preliminary documents paperwork including Initial Disclosure Request, Re-Disclosure Request, employment verification, financial documentation and other documents as needed

Servicing by phone or in person the need for answers to questions in costs, payments, programs, daily rates, points, scheduling appointments and etc.

Communicate figures and loan terms effectively at closings with buyers, sellers, real estate agents, and third party service providers such as attorneys and title companies.

Work closely with appropriate parties, including but not limited to area attorneys, realtors, insurance agents and others obtaining information

Proactively establish and maintain positive professional relationships with realtors, attorneys, etc. through networking, marketing tools, and community involvement

Utilize technology both to improve member experiences and maximize efficiencies

Recognize member and potential member needs and cross-sell and educate them on appropriate credit union services

Coordinate regular Realtor office visits and help promote our Realtor relationships

Other duties as assigned.
You’ll Need:
-
Associate’s degree in related field or equivalent experience
-
1+ years Mortgage industry experience, preferred
-
Current NMLS (National Mortgage Licensing System) registration or ability to obtain it.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to represent the credit union in a positive way when dealing with membership and other staff
-
Ability to demonstrate good decision-making techniques
-
Bilingual abilities in Spanish and English are a plus.
