Position Overview

The Walk-In Therapist is responsible for providing unscheduled mental health assessments, developing a level of care plan for each individual, providing bridge therapy sessions until long-term services are initiated, coordinating with internal and external programming and completing all required clinical documentation in compliance with KidsPeace and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Complete mental health assessments and develop a client centered level of care plan, including but not limited to safety planning, communicating with the identified level of care program and coordination with other internal programming/external agencies.

  • Review all level of care recommendations with a member of leadership team prior to discussing with individuals.

  • Complete all referrals and required documentation in a timely manner on KidsPeace approved forms and according to KidsPeace and regulatory standards.

  • Provide scheduled check-in sessions designed to assist the client in developing safety plans and maintain stability until they are enrolled in on-going mental/behavioral health treatment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master's Degree in Human Services related field Preferred

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services field required.

  • Minimum of two years’ experience in Mental Health Field Preferred

  • Valid driver’s license and First Aid/CPR certifications required.

  • Must possess basic personal computer knowledge and skills.

  • Must be 21 years of age.
