Job Description: We are seeking a dedicated Assistant Boys' Basketball Coach to support the development of student-athletes and contribute to a strong team culture. This position is best suited for someone with basketball coaching experience and/or college-level participation who enjoys working with high school athletes and helping them develop their skills.
Our program is supported by a talented and committed group of athletes, a great community, and a tradition of excellence. The Assistant Coach will work closely with the head coach and coaching staff to prepare athletes for competition while supporting their development on and off the court.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Assist the head coach with planning and conducting practices, training sessions, and team activities.

Instruct athletes in basketball skills, techniques, strategies, conditioning, and preparation for competition.

Assist with conducting tryouts and selecting student-athletes to represent the school.

Mentor athletes and provide guidance in sportsmanship, teamwork, discipline, and competitive play.

Teach and reinforce safety and injury-prevention practices.

Communicate team, school, and district policies and expectations related to school-sponsored athletic activities.

Comply with all school, district, and Utah High School Activities Association (UHSAA) rules, regulations, mandates, and requests.

Provide appropriate supervision during practices, games, locker room activities, team events, and team travel.

Foster a safe and respectful environment for student-athletes.

Complete required reports, forms, and other documentation.

Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.
Qualifications
-
Previous basketball coaching experience and/or college-level basketball participation is preferred.

Knowledge of basketball skills, strategies, and techniques, with the ability to effectively teach and develop high school student-athletes.

Ability to work collaboratively with the head coach and coaching staff.

Must complete all required UHSAA courses, new hire paperwork, and the Register My Athlete/Coaches account within two weeks of hire and prior to beginning coaching duties.
