Job Description
The Transportation Logistics Specialist is responsible for coordinating and supporting the day-to-day movement of goods across the company’s transportation network.
This role focuses on transportation scheduling, shipment coordination, carrier communication, freight documentation, delivery tracking, and issue resolution to ensure products and materials are transported accurately, efficiently, and on schedule.
The Transportation Logistics Specialist serves as a key point of coordination between carriers, freight brokers, freight forwarders, suppliers, warehouses, and internal teams. The role supports cost-effective transportation decisions, monitors shipment activity, maintains accurate transportation records, and proactively communicates delivery updates, delays, and potential service issues.
Skills and Requirements
- 3–5 years of experience in transportation, logistics, supply chain, or a related field.
- Experience coordinating domestic transportation, including LTL, FTL, parcel, and/or other transportation modes.
- Experience working with carriers, freight brokers, freight forwarders, and logistics providers.
- Experience with shipment tracking, transportation scheduling, freight documentation, and issue resolution.
- Proficiency in ERP systems, preferably NetSuite, and transportation or freight management systems.
- Working knowledge of Bills of Lading, freight quotes, delivery documentation, accessorial charges, and freight claims.
- Working knowledge of transportation regulations and general logistics practices.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple shipments and priorities simultaneously.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and follow-through skills.
- Ability to work effectively with internal teams and external transportation providers.
- Ability to work independently while appropriately escalating issues and seeking direction when needed.
