The Louisiana Correctional Institute for Women is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Administrative Program Specialist to join our team. An ideal candidate should possess the following competencies:

  • Making Accurate Judgments: The ability to assess options, weigh risks, and make sound decisions using available information and logical reasoning.

Three years of experience in administrative services; OR

Six years of full-time work experience in any field; OR

A bachelor's degree.

EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION: Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field. The official job specifications for this role, as defined by the State Civil Service, can be found here.Job Duties: The Administrative Program Specialist will be responsible for coordinating program activities, preparing complex reports, tracking operational data, assisting with policy implementation, and providing high-level administrative support to leadership. This role requires a proactive professional who can work independently, maintain confidentiality, and contribute to the overall efficiency of the facility.

  • Coordinate and track administrative and program activities within the facility
  • Prepare, review, and maintain reports, correspondence, and operational records
  • Assist leadership with scheduling, data collection, and project support
  • Monitor compliance with departmental policies and procedures
  • Provide administrative support to staff and ensure efficient office operations
  • Communicate with internal and external stakeholders to support program needs

Position-Specific Details: Appointment Type: PROBATION, or PROMOTION OF A PERMANENT, CLASSIFIED LOUISIANA STATE EMPLOYEE

  • Current permanent status classified LA State employees may be required to accept a probational appointment if accepted.

  • An employee selected for a promotion may be required to serve a trial detail prior to being permanently promoted.
