Cloud Automation & Platform Engineer Description - Job Summary

• This role is responsible for supporting the development of new software solutions and services using cloud software development techniques. As a part of software cloud engineering team, the role designs, deploys, and manages cloud infrastructure components such as virtual machines, containers, storage, networking, and security configurations. The role diagnoses and resolves technical issues related to cloud infrastructure and services, providing timely support to maintain optimal system performance.

Responsibilities

• Designs and develops solutions that protect and manage cloud native apps and data.
• Develops and coordinates cloud architecture over various areas, including application development, identity and access management, network and data management, and security.
• Collaborates with engineering and development teams to evaluate and identify optimal cloud solutions.
• Ensures efficient functioning of data storage and processing functions in accordance with company security policies and best practices in cloud security.
• Stores, retrieves, and manipulates data for analysis of system capabilities and requirements.
• Works with senior engineers in the design and deployment of software in cloud environments.
• Contributes to technology strategy and engineering roadmaps around cloud platforms; executes strategic engineering proof of concepts around cloud platforms.
• Executes job using Test Driven Development (TDD) approach, and supports continuous integration and continuous deployment patterns.
• Works independently on moderate scope problems, applying professional expertise, exercising judgment, and resolving various issues by following company policies and procedures.

Education & Experience Recommended

• Four-year or Graduate Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or any other related discipline or commensurate work experience or demonstrated competence.
• Typically has 2-4 years of work experience, preferably in distributed & cloud computing, software & cloud design, programming languages, agile development methodologies, or a related field or an advanced degree with little or no work experience.
