Employer: Rolling Forks Vineyards
Job Title: Director of Winery Operations
Job Location: 21505 Selnes Road, Glenwood, MN 56334
Job Duties: Responsible for managing winery. Specific duties include: (1) leading all aspects of vineyard management, including soil management, planting strategies, vine training, pruning, pest and disease control, and harvest operations; (2) reporting regular updates of harvest forecasts, schedule, manpower needs, equipment operation, and maintenance needs to owner; (3) leading the winemaking process, including grape selection, fermentation, filtration, bottling, and kegging; (4) building, mentoring, and leading vineyard and winery staff; (5) implementing rigorous workplace safety requirements/OSHA/HACCP, quality control measures, and innovative techniques; (6) exploring new methods and technologies to enhance products; (7) collaborating with the marketing and sales teams to align wine production with market trends and consumer preferences.
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Viticulture, Enology, Agronomy, or related; 5 years of hands-on experience in vineyard management and winemaking, with a track record of producing high-quality wines; strong knowledge of wine production, laboratory equipment and operation, and sustainable agriculture and winemaking practices; strong understanding of winemaking with cold hardy grapes; ability to obtain a valid Minnesota driver’s license.
