Summary

About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the ST-IC-W4JLAA STRATEGIC SYSTEMS SUPPORT ELEMENT.

Duties

  • Oversee the daily execution of Brigade operations and ensures operational tasks align with the Commander’s priorities.
  • Develop short-, mid-, and long-range strategies to support current and emerging operations.
  • Serve as the Deputy of Operations within the G3 Directorate of a Brigade Size unit.
  • Present formal and informal briefings to senior officials within the Special Operations Community to support operational decision-making.
  • Represent the organization at interagency forums to communicate organizational positions and coordinate studies.
  • Maintain liaison with Special Operations counterparts and higher headquarters to synchronize operational efforts.
  • Evaluate operational proposals and plans for adherence to public law, policies, and directives.
  • Advise the command on operational requirements from internal and external organizations and/or agencies.

Developing or assisting in the development of operational plans that support organizational missions and align with command guidance. 2. Reviewing operational reports and proposals to ensure compliance with established policies and directives. 3. Coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to support ongoing organizational operations. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the Federal service (GG/GS-13).
