Summary
You will serve as a TRAINING ADMINISTRATOR in the QUALITY ASSURANCE DEPARTMENT of NAVSUBTORP FAC.
Duties
- You will direct studies and analyze available data to identify areas that require performance improvement.
- You will identify situational training needs such as procedure changes, identification of safety risks, employee development topics, etc.
- You will analyze the design and development phase and determine root cause of training design weaknesses.
- You will be responsible for the administration of the command Training and Qualification program.
- You will serve as an advisor in training methodologies; develop metrics and strategies that support completion of the Navy’s training requirements and provide counsel to the PBFT on methods to achieve goals.
- You will provide mentoring, advice, and counsel to subject matter experts (i.e. area managers), and assist in the creation and implementation of area specific training plans and applying learning strategies.
- You will exercise managerial authority to direct, coordinate, and oversee work utilizing contractor training support staff to assure implementation of the goals and objectives of the MK-48 Training System.
Qualifications
To qualify for a GS-11, your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience coordinating and implementing a command training program. Experience with using MK48 Torpedo Personal Qualification Standards. Experience operating under the MK48 Torpedo program training system. Experience developing and assessing training topics and sessions. Experience assigning, monitoring and assessing contractor work. Education
In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience: Successful completion of Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or Successful completion of 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or Possession of an LL.M., if related or A combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience A transcript must be submitted with your application if qualifying using education. This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required. The position requires the incumbent to perform Temporary Duty travel out of the commuting area approximately 10% of the time. Temporary Duty does not normally exceed one week in duration and travel arrangements are provided by the command, utilizing commercial carriers, and are in accordance with Joint Travel Regulations. This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program. Additional vacancies may be filled by this announcement.
