Position Type: Part-Time / Stipend Position

Reports To: Drama Director/Activities Director/Principal

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Production Designer/Set Builder is responsible for designing and executing the technical elements of the production. This includes:

  • Collaboration: Working closely with the head director, musical director, and set/technical director 2 to ensure technical elements complement the performance.

  • Backstage Management: Coordinates set movement and special effects during performances. Will be behind the scenes during the play.

  • Student Involvement: Guiding middle school students and high school mentors in learning technical skills like set painting, lighting design, or operating sound equipment.

  • Rehearsal Support: Attending rehearsals as needed to troubleshoot technical challenges or adjust set pieces and cues.

  • Safety Oversight: Ensuring all technical and set elements meet safety standards for the cast, crew, and audience.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES OF ACTIVITIES COACHES

General

  1. All sponsors should be familiar with the rules and policies of the Boone Community School District and their respective assiociation.

  2. All activities are to be organized and supervised by the sponsors, as to insure student safety. Be aware of unsafe equipment and/or facilities and report such to the Activites Director immediately.

  3. Sponsors are to be at all meetings and events on time and are to be dressed appropriately.
