About the Position: This position is located with the USACE Directorate of Civil Works Operations and Regulatory COP. This announcement is for current, permanent Army employees that would like to be considered for a time-limited promotion, reassignment or change to lower grade. Duties

• Advises on legal matters, implements legislation, and provides policies to guide field operating activities in executing natural resource and public use management programs.
• Ensures policies align with existing laws. Directs responses to inquiries from the White House, Congress, and federal agencies. Supervises NRM research and development.
• Represents the Chief of Engineers in conferences with federal, state, and municipal agencies to ensure program coordination and formulate policies and procedures.
• Formulates Corps policies for the development, management, and preservation of land and natural resources on Civil Works lands and waters
• Plans work to be accomplished by subordinates, sets priorities, and establishes schedules for work completion. Assigns work to individuals or teams based on priorities.

You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Leadership Oral Communication Partnering Strategic Thinking Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-14).

Position may be made permanent without further competition. If applicable, returns rights may be negotiated upon selection.
