Job Description
Overview Our client is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join a high-impact Scrum team responsible for the curation, ingestion, and processing of large-scale data. This team develops and maintains the applications, services, web crawlers, and data collection tools that acquire critical information and make it available across the enterprise. This is an opportunity for an experienced engineer who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, modernizing legacy applications, and bringing fresh ideas to an established platform. The ideal candidate will be a strong full-stack developer with expertise in .NET/C#, Python, SQL, and modern software development practices who can work cross-functionally with stakeholders and development teams. Long-term, this individual will have the opportunity to grow into a technical leadership role. Responsibilities Join a core Scrum team supporting critical data ingestion, curation, and processing platforms. Design, develop, and maintain applications and services built primarily in .NET/C# and Python. Support and enhance web scraping, crawling, and data acquisition solutions that collect and process large volumes of information. Evaluate existing systems, identify technical debt, and help drive modernization initiatives across the platform. Partner with business stakeholders, product teams, and developers to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions. Develop and optimize APIs, backend services, and database-driven applications. Perform code reviews and promote software engineering best practices across the team. Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues while improving overall system performance and reliability. Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the team's technical growth. Leverage modern AI-assisted development tools and emerging technologies to improve developer productivity and solution quality.
Compensation: $65/hr to $70/hr.
Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching. Employees in this role are also entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.
Skills and Requirements
5+ years of professional software development experience. Strong experience developing applications using C# and the Microsoft .NET framework. Hands-on experience with Python development. Experience working with SQL and relational databases. Understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and scalable application development. Experience working within Agile/Scrum environments. Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical teams. Proven ability to analyze existing systems and identify opportunities for modernization and improvement. Competence in AI Experience building or supporting web crawlers, scrapers, ETL processes, or data ingestion platforms. Knowledge of enterprise-scale data processing and data management systems. Experience with cloud platforms and modern DevOps practices. Exposure to AI tools, AI-assisted development, or automation technologies. Experience leading technical initiatives or mentoring developers.
