About the Unit

Our Labor and Delivery Unit within Butterworth Hospital, it is a fast paced procedural unit, similar to a surgical environment. We have 28 Beds, 11 Triage (5 Prep & Recovery Bays, 3 ORs) and we average 8,000 births per year.

Scope of work

This will require day shift orientation for multiple weeks, prior to phasing into a part time night shift role.

As a Nursing Technician with Corewell Health, providing top-notch patient care is paramount. Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Provider, you'll be performing basic nursing skills, observing patients, and communicating those observations to the other members of the team. You'll be a vital part of our team, making a real difference in the lives of our patients and their families.

In this unit Nurse Techs help turn over the OR rooms with the RNs, help with stocking, help with mom recoveries, help clean up babies, and get baby vitals, help position patients, transport, patients, and they help cover the Unit Secretary desk during lunches or sick days.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required within 90 days of hire

  • Over 1 year of relevant bedside care experience strongly preferred

  • Must be available to orient variable weekdays 7am-7:30pm, and rotational weekends, for 6 weeks, prior to starting the regular night shift.
