Responsibilities The Sr. Medical Staff Specialist, functions as a liaison between the Medical Staff Specialist of Piedmont Hospitals, allied healthcare professionals, legal counsel, and administration with regard to system-wide credentialing processes, interpretation and application of DNV standards, medical/legal issues, state and federal guidelines, and regulatory agency guidelines as they relate to credentialing, peer review and compliance issues. Coordinates all aspects of the credentialing and privileging process for medical staff initial appointment, Advanced Practice Practitioner, reappointment, and temporary privileging by reviewing all required data for each applicant within the defined timelines. Bachelor’s Degree Required or

In Lieu of degree six (6) years of relevant work experience will be accepted in addition to the experience requirement Required
Work Experience

4 years of medical staffing experience in a hospital or a health care setting Required or

In lieu of degree 10 years of medical staffing experience in a hospital or a health care setting Required
Licenses and Certifications
-
None Required
-
Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) Preferred

CMSC - Certified Medical Staff Coordinator Preferred
