Full job description
About Middesk: Middesk is building the data and intelligence infrastructure that helps businesses work together with confidence. We started by creating a comprehensive platform for understanding businesses, bringing together authoritative and proprietary data to help customers verify business identities, onboard customers faster, and manage risk throughout the customer lifecycle. Today, Middesk is used by more than 700 banks and fintechs, and in 2025 we verified more than 7 million companies. We've also expanded beyond business verification to help companies form, register, manage, and maintain their businesses, supporting more than 50,000 companies in setting up over 100,000 accounts required to hire employees, run payroll, and stay compliant. Middesk came out of Y Combinator, and is backed by Sequoia Capital, Accel, Insight Partners, and Canapi. We're proud to be named on the Forbes Fintech 50 and Best Startup Employers lists. The Role We have rapidly expanded our product suite, and the operational surface area needed to support it has grown with it. We are looking for a systems and process expert to help us scale our internal operations infrastructure gracefully and at a reasonable cost, while we maintain product quality and performance. That same person should be adept at taking things from concept to reality when the need for new products or procedures arises. If you want to have a large impact on a growing product, and to work in a fast-paced environment, we would like to talk with you.
What You'll Do
-
Become an expert in the data that powers our products, and in everything it takes to keep that data accurate and recent.
-
Design, operate, and streamline high-volume fulfillment workflows that deliver successful client outcomes.
-
Automate recurring operational work so that it runs without manual intervention, and measure the time and cost that you remove.
-
Build the dashboards and analyses that show how our data and fulfillment processes perform, and use them to find the largest improvement opportunities.
-
Work cross-functionally with Engineering, Sales, Product, and Customer Experience to launch new products, improve existing processes, and create multi-team procedures.
-
Partner with Finance to find operational inefficiencies and propose solutions that weigh financial and operational cost against benefit.
What We're Looking For
-
At least two years of experience in consulting, finance, strategy, or business operations.
-
Experience that shows you can design, scale, and maintain high-volume processes, with a focus on software-driven systems.
-
Experience that shows you can use data to find insights, drive action, and solve problems. We strongly prefer candidates who understand SQL and build dashboards.
-
The ability to use operational expertise to advise Product and Engineering teams on turning processes into internal and external products.
Nice to Haves
-
Experience at a B2B SaaS startup or a financial services company.
-
Exposure to vendor management or to leading outsourced teams, or an interest in growing into that work.
-
Exposure to unit-cost tracking for operational and fulfillment processes.
-
Experience that automates manual work with scripting, workflow tools, or AI-assisted tooling.
