Full job description
Safety-Kleen Systems, is hiring for a Facility General Manager to lead our safety-conscious team! This leader will be responsible for the daily management of our Transfer, Storage, and Disposal Facility, which includes waste management, health & safety, compliance, profit & loss, and staffing.

Manages the facility to the clean compliance standards and measures against the CCP KPI's.

Knowledge of all facility specific capabilities and processing technologies including wastewater treatment.

Reviews and approves profiles; Hires subcontractors and solicits bids for projects.

Works closely with the safety department to enhance and improve safety within facility. Co-chairs Facility Health & Safety meetings.

Partner with Facility Compliance Manager to maintain the facility in compliance.

Analyzes waste samples for acceptance and develops treatment recipes.

Responsible for management of profit and loss statement according to budgeted revenue and percentages. Assures operating costs, labor, materials, supplies, disposal, and SG&A costs meet or exceed budgeted parameters. Approves purchasing and manages labor to assure operating costs are in line with budgeted and projected revenue.

Responsible for the training and development of all plant employees. Responsible for mentoring current and future managers assuring the continued growth of the company.

Management of maintenance department.

Assures facility is always properly maintained, clean and presentable for customer audits and tours. Participates when necessary or requested.

Develops and assures a good working relationship with local Field Service General Manager, Technical Services General Manager, and Logistics Manager.

May be assigned additional duties not listed above based on business needs.

Bachelor's degree
-
7-10+ years' experience in operations.
-
Proven leadership experience managing facility operations, employees, and business performance in an industrial or hazardous waste environment.

Strong knowledge of RCRA, DOT, environmental regulations, and regulatory compliance requirements.

Experience leading and developing teams, including employee training, coaching, performance management, and succession planning.

Demonstrated ability to drive a strong safety culture and maintain compliance with company and regulatory standards.

Strong understanding of plant operations, maintenance programs, and operational processes.

Experience managing budgets, labor resources, operating costs, and profit and loss performance.

Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills with the ability to build relationships across all levels of the organization.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities with a focus on continuous improvement.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and other business and operational software systems.

Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities while delivering operational, safety, financial, and compliance objectives.
