Director of Field Engineers

Job Description

Work Environment Approximately 60-70% office-based and 30-40% field-based. Responsible for assigning work, coordinating crews, and monitoring project progress. Must be comfortable visiting project sites and performing field inspections. Required to work from the Austin office daily. Travel Requirements Active projects in New Mexico and Pandale, TX. Expected travel to these locations approximately once per month. Company provides a gas card and truck allowance. Must be available to take occasional phone calls on weekends when project needs arise. Key Responsibilities Manage and evaluate field personnel on a daily basis. Coordinate project documentation and file management. Oversee as-built drawings and project closeout documentation. Help implement and improve operational systems and processes. Manage equipment, crews, and division-level operations. Ensure projects stay on schedule and meet quality standards. Required Experience 5-10 years of Field Engineer experience. Previous experience managing 5+ crews simultaneously. Experience overseeing equipment and project operations. Strong leadership and team management background. Experience with Trimble software preferred. Ideally has experience building processes and implementing systems. Must have a strong field background before moving into leadership roles. Project Types Site development and building layout. Data center construction. Structural construction projects. Utility and gas line layout experience is helpful but not a primary focus. Will be overseeing multiple projects at the same time.

Ideal Candidate Profile A strong field engineering professional with 5-10 years of experience who has progressed into leadership, managed multiple crews and projects, implemented operational improvements, and is comfortable balancing office coordination with field oversight across multiple construction sites.
