The Office of Juvenile Justice is seeking a highly organized and dependable Administrative Assistant 4 to provide administrative support to facility leadership and help ensure efficient day-to-day operations. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, exercises sound judgment, and can manage multiple priorities with professionalism and accuracy. As an Administrative Assistant 4, you will play a key role in supporting office operations through communication, recordkeeping, correspondence, purchasing support, and administrative coordination. The successful candidate will be self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently while maintaining a high level of customer service and professionalism. If you are proactive, efficient, and enjoy supporting leadership and organizational success, this position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to the mission of the Office of Juvenile Justice. AN IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL POSSESS THE FOLLOWING COMPETENCIES:

EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION: Every 15 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as six months of experience. The official job specifications for this role, as defined by the State Civil Service, can be found here.Job Duties:

  • Provides administrative support to the Youth Facility Assistant Director and supervisory staff.
  • Manages office communications by answering, screening, and directing calls and responding to routine inquiries.
  • Performs clerical functions including data entry, filing, scanning, copying, faxing, and records management.
  • Maintains reports and correspondence related to assigned projects and administrative activities.
  • Supports purchasing processes by preparing purchase orders and tracking related documentation.
  • Assists with special projects and administrative assignments to support facility operations.
  • Participates in staff meetings, trainings, and other activities while performing additional duties as assigned

Position-Specific Details: Work Location: This vacancy is located at the Swanson Center for Youth in Monroe, Louisiana. Appointment Type: Full time, Probational Career Progression: This position does not participate in a Career Progression Group. Compensation: $15.76 - $27.01 hourly

The incumbent of this position must not have been convicted or pled nolo contendere to a crime listed in R.S. 15:587.1 (c)
