Summary

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Domestic Defense Industrial Base & Major Range and Test Facilities Base to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: This position will supervise the Grounds and Structures area for Public Works Directorate with responsibility over work operations, planning, materials, equipment and employees needed.

Duties

  • Serve as the technical and administrative supervisor over the Grounds and Structures Section, providing work instructions to employees for daily engineering equipment operator tasks.
  • Check work in progress and upon completion for compliance with established instructions on work sequence, procedures, methods and deadlines.
  • Determine equipment, supplies, and maintenance required and assure that material is ordered and delivered to work sites in order to not delay work.
  • Advise workers on proper procedures and techniques to be used based on the nature of assignment.
  • Plan weekly and monthly work schedules and sequence of operations for subordinates.

Qualifications

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. There is no specific length of training or experience required. However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision. Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Engineering Equipment Operator Supervisor ~ without more than normal supervision. I have the ability to perform common supervisory duties on a temporary basis to include overseeing and assigning tasks to other employees in accomplishing trades and labor work associated with Engineering Equipment Operation field, passing on instructions, procedures, determining priorities and establishing deadlines. I am skilled in demonstrating work procedures, reviewing completed work performed by others, making determinations for required equipment, supplies and maintenance to ensure availability and avoid delays, identifying training needs, providing counseling to employees when problems arise. I work under normal supervision of branch chief. - Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating.
