Full job description

We are seeking a motivated Student Assistant to support the Employee Development and Training Unit (EDTU) in the Michigan Civil Service Commission (MCSC)! This position is ideal for a student that is organized, detail-oriented, and passionate about making an impact in Human Resources. Our student assistant will get hands-on experience with real HR processes, work alongside our awesome trainers, and help employees across MCSC learn, develop, and succeed. It’s meaningful work, and a great place to start your career with MCSC!

Position Description: Student Assistant

This position generally requires current enrollment in high school, vocational or technical school, or post-secondary educational institution. Specific information on the education and experience required for different class levels is in the job specifications of the Student Assistant class. Student Assistant positions cannot exceed 129 working hours in a calendar month and must be enrolled in at least six credit hours per term, providing proof of enrollment at the start of each term. Student Assistant appointments end the month in which the student graduates or is no longer enrolled in school. A Student Assistant position cannot exceed six years unless otherwise approved by Human Resources.
