Summary

This announcement if for the Director of Engineering at a 584 room full service Resort. Duties

Manages staff and operating requirements of the engineering department based on objectives and priorities assigned by the General Manager. Responsibilities include both short and long range budget and project planning and ensuring proper capitalization and use of assets and systems. Determines and takes proper action to procure equipment parts and supplies needed to keep systems and equipment in proper working order. Serves as the contracting officer's representative and point of liaison for outside service contracts, such as elevator, exhaust and grease traps, air conditioning chiller maintenance and cooling tower water treatment, as well as refuse collection. Provides direction, evaluates, and oversees the work of subordinate employees in all phases of preventive and repair maintenance. Identifies and programs minor construction projects, maintenance and repair projects. Makes plans and determines cost estimates, resources needed, and completion time for projects. Reviews plans, drawings, concept sketches, work orders and specifications, and performs other associated duties related to technical engineering. Establishes internal systems or procedures that will identify and correct potential problems from occurring. Ensures strict adherence to internal control and environmental procedures and requirements. Performs administrative duties such as project planning, forecasting, ordering and receiving parts, equipment and materials. Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS MUST BE CLEARLY VERIFIABLE IN YOUR RESUME. GOVERNMENT POSITIONS MUST INCLUDE PAY PLAN, SERIES, GRADE, TO AND FROM DATES, AND GOVERNMENT AGENCY/DEPARTMENT. All qualification requirements must include experience performing duties equivalent in scope and complexity to the next lower grade level. Specialized experience in order to perform the duties as described above. Must be highly skilled in maintenance and operations of the mechanical, electrical, and refrigeration systems associated with large hotels. Must have a proven record as an effective administrator who has directed work in hotel facilities as either a chief engineer or engineering director.
