Job Description
The Production Technician is responsible for the safe and reliable operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of production equipment in an oil and gas field environment. This role requires strong hands-on technical skills, sound judgment, and the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with production personnel and other field teams.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Midland Basin production operations, particularly as a Lease Operator or Pumper. Candidates should have hands-on experience operating and maintaining producing wells, tank batteries, compressors, separators, flowlines, and other related production equipment. Successful candidates will be able to independently troubleshoot field issues, diagnose equipment problems, perform or coordinate necessary repairs, optimize production, maintain a strong safety culture, and effectively manage assigned routes with minimal supervision. Direct Permian Basin oil and gas production experience is strongly preferred.
Skills and Requirements
- 8-10 years of hands-on experience in an oil and gas production environment.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel
- Lease Operator, Pumper, or similar production operations experience is highly desirable.
- Experience with Midland Basin and/or Permian Basin production operations is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot equipment and resolve field issues independently.
- Strong mechanical and technical aptitude.
- Ability to work independently as well as effectively within a team.
- Strong commitment to safety and operational excellence.
